The launch position on cookies
This PlaylistLength.net cookies notice describes the planned production behavior effective August 29, 2026. The browser-only calculators do not require an account, advertising profile, analytics vendor, or saved calculation history. Under the declared launch workflow, PlaylistLength.net does not set application cookies or use persistent local storage for track durations, item names, gaps, speeds, start times, or results.
A cookie is a small value a website can ask a browser to retain and return with later requests. Local storage is a separate browser mechanism that can keep values on a device without attaching them to every request. Session memory is different again: it can hold rows while a page is open and then disappear on reset, reload, or closure. The calculators use that temporary working-state model rather than persistence.
What temporary state means
When a user adds an item, the page must remember the value long enough to perform the calculation and display a result. That does not require a cookie. The interface can keep values in the active page’s memory. Choosing “Reset” clears the rows and result; leaving the interaction ends the defined state.
For example, a visitor enters 22:00, 31:30, and 18:15 into the podcast queue tool and selects 1.25× playback. The browser can calculate the adjusted queue during that visit. The tool does not need to assign a tracking identifier, store episode labels for the next day, or transmit the values to a remote history. If the tab is later closed, the operator cannot restore that queue.
Temporary state is not the same as a privacy or security guarantee for the whole device. Browser extensions, shared-device users, accessibility software, screenshots, clipboard history, operating-system features, or malicious software may interact with visible content outside the site’s control. Users should avoid entering sensitive names when durations alone are enough.
No launch analytics or advertising cookies
The production contract contains no analytics vendor, ad network, retargeting pixel, social tracking tag, or cross-site behavioral profile. There is therefore no launch justification for analytics or advertising cookies. A later implementation must not silently add one under this notice.
If a materially different non-essential cookie or storage use is proposed, the site would need to update its documentation and implement any consent choice required by applicable law before activating it. The choice should explain purpose, duration, provider, and withdrawal behavior in plain language. A generic banner that merely says continued browsing equals consent would not be an adequate substitute where affirmative consent is required.
Hosting and infrastructure distinctions
PlaylistLength.net is intended for deployment on Vercel. Hosting, security, or network infrastructure may use technical mechanisms at layers outside the application content, and those practices must be checked in the actual deployed environment. This plan does not claim that every request crosses infrastructure without logs, cache behavior, security headers, or provider-managed controls.
What it does require is that the application not invent cookies it does not need. Calculator values are not placed in URLs, request payloads, analytics events, or remote session records. Static pages and local arithmetic work without an application login session. Browser storage tools on a clean profile should show no site-authored persistent calculation record.
Browser cache and local files
A browser may cache ordinary page resources such as HTML, style sheets, fonts, or images to make later page loads efficient. Cache behavior is not a saved playlist history. The generated favicon and hero image, for example, may be stored by a browser as site assets while containing no user-entered values.
A visitor may also choose to copy a result, print a page, take a screenshot, or save text to a local file. Those actions create records under the visitor’s control. They are not automatic storage by PlaylistLength.net. Users should manage those records according to their own device-sharing and confidentiality needs.
Your controls
Most browsers let users view and clear cookies and site data, block storage, use a private-browsing window, and remove cached resources. The exact labels differ by browser and version. Blocking application cookies should not prevent the declared calculators from working because they do not depend on login or persistence. Extremely restrictive settings that disable JavaScript will prevent interactive arithmetic, although the explanatory content should remain readable.
Do not assume that clearing site data erases an email already sent to support, a screenshot, a copied summary, or hosting records lawfully retained by an infrastructure provider. The privacy notice explains those separate channels. The most reliable way to minimize calculator data is to omit optional labels and reset the page when finished.
Frequently asked questions
Does PlaylistLength.net remember my last calculation?
No persistent calculation history is part of the launch workflow. Copy any summary you want to retain before leaving.
Is a cookie banner required at launch?
The declared application does not use non-essential cookies. The deployed environment must still be inspected; consent behavior depends on what is actually present and applicable law.
Are cached images tracking files?
No. Ordinary static assets can be cached for delivery without containing calculator inputs or identifying a calculation.
Can future cookie practices change?
Yes, but a material change should be documented and any required choice presented before the new practice begins.
Who can answer a cookie question?
Email support@playlistlength.net with the browser, affected route, and the specific storage item or request you observed.
Verify the local boundary
Use the calculators without an account, clear the temporary rows when finished, and consult the privacy notice for support-email and hosting distinctions. If browser tools show site-set storage that conflicts with this notice, send the route, date, browser, and storage name to support.
